Industrial Electrician / Panel Builder

Summary

Seeking a skilled Industrial Electrician / Panel Builder to wire, assemble, and support custom industrial equipment and electrical control panels. Responsibilities include panel building, machine wiring, troubleshooting, and assisting with equipment testing and installation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and wire industrial control panels following schematics and layout drawings
  • Install and terminate sensors, motors, drives, and electrical control devices
  • Route, dress, and secure cables, conduit, and wireways
  • Perform point-to-point wiring and panel checkout
  • Support controls/PLC teams during integration
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues during build and testing
  • Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
  • Assist with equipment installation and commissioning
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Follow all safety procedures and electrical codes

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as an industrial electrician, panel builder, or machine wiring technician
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Experience wiring control panels, junction boxes, and industrial equipment
  • Familiarity with PLC I/O wiring and basic control circuits
  • Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 79, and electrical safety standards
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and electrical test equipment
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with VFDs, servos, and motor control systems
  • Knowledge of UL 508A panel construction standards
  • Basic mechanical aptitude for working on machinery
  • Experience with field installation and startup support

Travel Requirements

  • Occasional travel (0-20%) for installation and customer support
